Internet, electronic devices, new technologies… I eat drink, breathe and live these. I was educated as an engineer, but never practiced it professionally. I started working as a management trainee at Garanti Bank’s Alternative Delivery Channels Department and continued my career path at the same department at Akbank; at both jobs, my technical background and analytical mindset helped my employers in bridging the gap between the business and technology departments as business and marketing systems become more complex and technical every day.
In 2011, I left the banking world to work at faster moving startups that focus on location based mobile products; first at 4play where I drafted the company’s business plan, and then at Mekanist, where I currently manage the marketing activities.
I led, coordinated and took part in projects in every conceivable field of digital marketing; including web design, content management systems, web analytics, search engine marketing, search engine optimization, social media campaigns and mobile application development. Throughout these endeavors, I kept a strong belief in analytics data and developed a keen understanding of usability both for mobile and web based applications.
Thanks to my education I have a very international background. I studied in Mexico for one year at the age of 14 via the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, attended an international high school, finished university in Canada and topped it all up with an Executive MBA degree from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul. I am bilingual in English and Turkish and moderately fluent in French and Spanish.
I am driven with the desire to learn about and implement new technologies. I enjoy creating elegant solutions and systems that align with business needs.
